About PaideiaTimes Weekly And Why You Should Subscribe

In nearly a decade of publishing Paideia Times as a quarterly, our small team of researchers, writers, and editors have created one of the country’s most robust information gateways to the essential questions facing higher education trustees. In the process, by accessing and summarizing hundreds of stories about our colleges and universities, we have learned a great deal about what makes the greatest college system in the world tick.

And as the world ticks faster, we have discovered a new platform and a new metronome: Substack.

Welcome to PaideiaTimes Weekly (PTW), a digital publication that brings news of higher education issues, events, and analysis to readers closer to when it happens; on a platform allowing us to be more in sync with varying tempos.  And, thanks to Substack, we have a broader audience potential with sophisticated circulation, promotion, and subscription support.

When the time comes to subscribe please let us know what rate you prefer.

We know that PTW will become your easy-to-use go-to publication for understanding higher education’s duties and challenges as they happen – whether you are a college or university trustee, an administrator, or just a parent or future student preparing for the big day, PTW will deliver the most important summary of the most important issues – including questions and answers -- facing higher education.

We are suspending the quarterly, but will continue to mine our dozens of news and information resources for PTW and  keep our rich archives available to subscribers (here), hoving even more closely to the four key subjects essential to the stability and improvement of all our colleges and universities: their  Purpose Governance, the Public Trust in them, and the External Orders in society and culture that affect such Purpose, Governance and Public Trust.

And we will continue to do all of this with a keen eye on the maxim attributed to Aristotle, “Excellence does not happen by accident.”

Thank you. Try it out and let me know what you think.  –Peter Meyer, Managing Editor
